Day 8 was filled with the recorded police interviews of EP’s children.
They finished the recoding from yesterday of EP& SP’s daughter who was 9 at the time of the interview in late 2023
She just basically goes through the days following the lunch.. with not much information she said her mum was a ‘good cook’
She said she doesnt like mushroom, she’s never been mushroom picking and she does not recall seeing mushroom in Mt Waverly (where they spent the easter break)

The son (14yrs old) interview was also played.. again a lot of confirming the timeline which coincided with his sisters testimony.. but he added that the next day even though EP said she was too unwell to go to church and had been going to the bathroom.. she drove him out to his flying lesson (about 70mins away) with no stops, then just before they got there the flying instructor bailed and cancelled the lesson, so they turned around and drove home. They stopped for dimsims and hotdog but EP did not use the bathroom at all on the entire trip.
Son then said she ‘raced to get inside’ to the bathroom once they got home.. but I don’t think that means she was sick, it just means she spent about three ours in the car without going.

He also helped to pack the dishwasher after the lunch and confirms the plates were ‘white and about 15cm diameter” and said they were the plates mum uses to serve dinner.
he mentioned a salad he saw being prepared – but this is the first mention of a salad I have seen… so the kid could be wrong or maybe no one else noticed it (the dinner is said to have been mashed potato, beef wellington and green beans) so the salad is interesting.

Son also said that when he went upstairs to ask his mum to take his friend home she was playing lego…
she also had her morning coffees on monday and Sunday.. and another coffee on that drive from the flying lesson…

He said that the ‘leftover’ steak he had was ‘some of the best meat I have eaten’ and it was eye fillet and he saw it the day before.. and that it was a block that he cut up and ate.

At 6.30 monday morning EP drove him to the bus stop and had said she was up through the night to go to the toilet and she felt dizzy… but she still had her morning coffee..

the last semi interesting point was that the child said he remembers being on a walk with his mother during covid and she took a pic of a mushroom because ‘it looked nice’

EP herself went through a lot of emotions during this listen. She nodded along to parts of the testimony at other times she dabbed her eyes with a tissue. I can imagine that she hasn’t seen much of her kids since she was arrested, so I understand that their voices would have an emotional effect on her..

or maybe she’s thinking something else..

in all it was a quieter day in court, and not a lot of revelation but we cant expect everyday to be interesting.

They wont resume until Tuesday…
