I did something similar not long ago.

At the nearest supermarket, i saw two young women, in their twenties, who were superbly dressed in ‘casual business’ attire.

I said to them, ‘i don’t want to sound creepy, but you young ladies are the best dressed people i’ve ever seen in this shop’.

‘They smiled, blushed, and said ‘thank you, that’s lovely of you’.
