She was scheduled to have it back in December, but the day before the scheduled day, she collapsed with a pulmonary embolism.

The surgeon, the clinical physician, and the GP all agree that, had she not collapsed when she did, the undetected embolism would have ensured that she did not survive the surgery. Dead for a ducat.

Oh goodness. Good to hear that her collapse turned out to be a Good Thing. Wishing Mrs S all the best for successful surgery and speedy recovery
