Nine degrees and the light is well here.

Birds suspiciously quiet. Noticed yesterday that the black faced cuckoo-shrikes turned up and were singing. The old tales suggest that these are the rain birds. Since they are rarely seen or heard unless rain is arriving may add weight to that.

The fact that it is expected to reach 25 degrees today may also add to that.

Looks like I’d better mow the weeds.
