Use File Explorer
Go to you C: Drive on Win 10
up the top in the “search” bar, type .xls
This will find all your spreadsheets.
Click and hold the “Shift” key and “left click” the top file on the list. While holding “Shift” scroll to the bottom of the list and “left click” again. This will select all the files your search found.

“Right click and “copy’” or CTRL-C

Go to your external drive and create a folder called, say “spreadsheets”. Go to that folder. CTRL-V or “right click” paste.

Do the same for all you .doc or .docx files. Same for all your .jpg (pics) . mov, .mp4 (movies) and other data files.

…… or, if you keep all your data files in, say, a folder called the business name you are dealing with, you can just copy that folder instead.
