I remember when lady and I were young, a way back now, lived in a place that was more central to all of australia’s beaches than any other town, we had a land lady, seemed obliging enough until we went to recover our bond at quite some later date, seemed quite picky about stuff and gave all the indications of not returning any of the bond, our instincts told us we were going to get screwed by the creature, decided to visit her, wasn’t far away, anyway she opened the door we put to her what our grievance was and she was about to shut the door in our face at which point I put a foot in the doorway and blocked the door from shutting, to keep the thing available for a chat you know, anyway she at some point said she was going to call the police and I responded get me the phone book i’ll look it up for you. I was young and bold.

we didn’t get our bond back, but many years later saw her on TV she’d been done for art fraud

I had a good, take that!! moment, and it didn’t surprise me

I think perhaps she is doing it under the counter and not declaring the income.
She’d be getting a 1000 a week from the place
So someone questioning her about bond instead of giving up because its too hard upset her
I don’t think the place is up to code as I don’t remember smoke alarms for a start so that could be a problem for her as well.
I am now going to do everything I can to make sure she has consequences for how she acted.
Nothing criminal, illegal or that but perhaps it also helps someone else who may rent from her in the future.
That someone has control over your housing and misuses it to make you compliant is just wrong.
