The top ten polluters which have made at least 50 heatwaves 10,000 times more likely.
A new study found around a quarter of heatwaves from 2000 to 2023 would be nearly impossible without climate change.
The analysis also indicated that 180 major carbon emitters, including Chevron and BP, are collectively responsible for around 50 per cent of the increase in intensity of heatwaves in the 21st century.
