Popular American right-wing activist Charlie Kirk has been shot while speaking on a university campus in Utah.

Video circulating on social media shows Mr Kirk, 31, seated under a tarpaulin and speaking into a microphone when he appears to be shot in the upper body.

US President Donald Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform: “We must all pray for Charlie Kirk, who has been shot. A great guy from top to bottom. GOD BLESS HIM!”
