I do know Steven Bradbury trained at my local skate rink. I think he’s a trainer or something there now.

His story is really quite interesting. Hanging back at the rear was the plan. He got to the final because others in his semi-final fell. A few months before the Olympics (his 3rd or 4th) he had a fall that put a skate-blade right though his leg and an artery. He nearly died from that.
