I toured Pompeii once. The tour guide pointed out a penis carved into the pavement and told us it indicates this was an area where prostitution services could be procured… but…

I’ve just “done my own research”, and it seems that the people of Pompeii just really loved penises. They were carved above household doors, carved into bakery ovens, people had giant peni flanking the entry to their houses…
