Sometimes see wallabies around here but mostly dead.
Apart from that there are plenty of rabbits, hares, native hens, ducks etc.
Apparently there’s tons of hares, but I’ve never seen one around here. Bush turkeys abound. Behind me when I took the Bayevue pic, there’s the bay. More wetlands than an actual bay, but there’s black swans, ducks, ibises, herons etc which hang around there. Also tawny frogmouths and powerful owls, but I’ve never seen an owl here. I hear them occasionally though.
You’d be flat out seeing a tawny frogmouth, they roost in paperbark trees and blend in beautifully.
Sometimes I run into the local tawny enthusiasts group watching for tawnies. I’m usually looking at the footpath so I don’t trip over. If I see the group looking at a tree, I stop to look too. I’ve seen tawnies, but would never find them on my own.
