Apart from that there are plenty of rabbits, hares, native hens, ducks etc.
Apparently there’s tons of hares, but I’ve never seen one around here. Bush turkeys abound. Behind me when I took the Bayevue pic, there’s the bay. More wetlands than an actual bay, but there’s black swans, ducks, ibises, herons etc which hang around there. Also tawny frogmouths and powerful owls, but I’ve never seen an owl here. I hear them occasionally though.
You’d be flat out seeing a tawny frogmouth, they roost in paperbark trees and blend in beautifully.
We had a pair living in the front yard in Brisbane. Sometimes they roosted on the front verandah. They raised several chicks, so some years there were four hanging around.
