You’d be flat out seeing a tawny frogmouth, they roost in paperbark trees and blend in beautifully.

We had a pair living in the front yard in Brisbane. Sometimes they roosted on the front verandah. They raised several chicks, so some years there were four hanging around.

We had some in our front street tree for a while. Neighbour had a Japanese exchange student staying with them, who was very excited to see it.
