Rabbits, yes. Hares, no.

Rabbits are nonreportable. If one was to have one as a pet, and take it to the vet, the vet does not legally have to report it. Ferrets are reportable, for example.

There you go. The electric interwebs told me this morning that rabbits in the wild must be reported. But that hares do not have to be reported.
