She is using a walker which she wasn’t supposed to use. Surgeon suggested a zimmer frame but she’d already been using the walker and stubbornly refused to use the zimmer.

I don’t understand the difference. And I’ve not heard the zimmer word used here for mobility devices (only ever heard it used in British dramas, and assumed it is a brand name or something), they are all walking frames/walkers/wheelie frames. I presume you mean she should be using one without wheels at this stage so it can’t get away from her?

Zimmer type frames only have wheels at the front. The back has sliders. It is all about weight bearing.
