Some time before International Rescue begin operating, the Hood, attempting to film the secrets of an atomic irrigation plant in an Australian desert, is discovered and in an ensuring gun battle, one of the Hood’s bullets hits a gas cylinder, causing a fire that results in the explosion of the nuclear reactor. The resulting radioactive cloud drifts towards Melbourne but a strong wind fortunately blows the cloud away.
