Yes
I have no one or anything to care for anymore.
It’s just me and even physical contact with an animal is important as its connection with something living.
This is part of my new life, too. All my life I was part of a big family of origin caring for others in various physical and emotional ways. Then my work in early childhood services, and of course my 2 sons. Then mr kii and all my other critters.
It helps me to remember that I have me to care for, with more time and energy to do that. It’s hard to get out of a lifetime habit of caring for others.
Sometimes I hold my own hand and pretend it’s mr kii, shhh…don’t tell anyone. Plus my 6’ 4” son will give me a bear hug when I ask for one.
