Did you see Robby Coltrane’s episode with Garlits in the series “Coltrane’s Planes and Automobiles” ?

I have seen Garlits race at Castlereagh Dragway (Sydney – now closed), when I was 19 or 20 or so. He was quite approachable and seemed like a nice friendly bloke when I talked with him in the pits.

I probably have seen that, but I watched that series many years ago, I don’t remember that bit sorry.
He does seem like a bloke happy to talk to the people around his pit.

Well, he is doing his V8 episode and goes to the Don Garlits Museum. Not a word about drag racing. They (well Don, mostly) resurrect a WW2 Air-raid siren that had not been run since WWII. I (and I expect virtually everybody else too) expected drag racing stuff. Totally sucked in. And that was the joke. Brilliant.
