Today I washed my hands before lunch because I had been handling the Amanitas. When I cut them up here at home though, I did it outside on a log with my bush knife (not used for food) and I wore gloves. Not much is known about the Australian Amanitas and their chemicals. They could be harmless or they could be deadly. Plenty of research areas available for when we start actually having paid mycologists around…they are in short supply.
