Greg Quicke (who i think is now deceased) ran star-gazing tours in WA (IIRC).
He wrote a book about this called ‘Is The Moon Upside-Down?’, because that was a question asked very frequently on his tours.
Most people don’t realise that the view of the heavens changes as you move north or south, even for something as near and familiar as the Moon.
Few would be surprised to learn that many Americans aren’t aware of this, but it seems to apply to all nationalities, including Australians.
We get so used to our ‘local’ view of the night sky, and its apparently unchanging nature, that most of us assume that it’s likethat everywhere.
