The fire shed looks a bit empty without all the crap that’s usually stored along this wall.
It’s currently spread between the back storage unit, the carpark garden, and the gap between the trucks.
With the truck out of the shed in daylight, I was able to get a better shot of the damage.
The insurance claim forms have just been completed, and I’ll send them off tomorrow.
At least the fuel tank doesn’t seem to be leaking.
Yeah, but there doesn’t seem to be a replacement in WA. It’s likely to come from Melbourne.
Both our trucks have had a hard life, the 4.4R copped a grader to the face during the Yarloop fire, the 3.4U cab got hit by a falling tree and spent 6 weeks at the panel beaters, the transfer case broke, it’s on it’s 3rd gearbox, and the 4.4R is on it’s second gearbox and that one is leaking oil onto the station floor. Both of them have had the rear axle come loose from the chassis, plus a regular list of minor ailments that I have to update the shire mechanic about.
Neither of them have reached 30,000km yet.
Gosh!
