Sense of belonging

I can’t say my schooling was particularly nurturing. You came to school, did your work, and if you didn’t, then you got into trouble, and then at the end of the day, you went home.

These days, report cards include information on friendships, effort put into the work. There are many types of inclusive activities: clubs, games, semi-structured sports, groups. Even the kids who haven’t mastered social skills have somewhere to go and people to chat to.
