You’re right, I do need a gatehouse! And a gate.

But the staff quarters; I was thinking of putting them in the basement which is why I asked if they need windows.ChrispinEvan is correct though, the staff will only really be in their quarters for 2 or 3 hours a night when I let them sleep, so windows are superfluous.

Now do you have any inbreed deformed relatives you can keep under the floorboards you feed with fish heads
If so this will require some space, probably not standing height but at least crawling
