I was going to suggest using one of those water filters that fit to a jug if you think your water quality may be affecting it. Buit hopefully things are on the up and up now

There is a chance that the council have changed the chemical used for water disinfecting to one that doesn’t evaporate when boiled. I’ll chase that up with the council plumber some time. Mrs V and he have compared knee replacements, so we are known, socially.
