we mean where do these {idiots saying and writing these panic ideas} think people are hiding all their panic bought fuel, like apart from making sure all their vehicles are full and perhaps having some Halliwell cans are stocked does panic make people pour it into their bathtubs or something

if anything it’s going to be the big users who they already tell others to “save fuel for” who will be doing big purchases, the ones with silos and underground tanks

the whole “panic” narrative is just as much shit, do better

Toilet paper? What happened with the toilet paper?

Seriously though, yes keep the car full, maybe have a few jerrycans full too, at home.

I try to keep the car full anyway. I can’t be bothered buying a fuel can.

But think of Kingy of this very forum and his business’s thousands of litres of fuel a week usage.

When I were a lad in the early 70’s me pa complained about the rapidly rising price of fuel. (It was nearly 40c/gallon)

We built a tank stand, and he bought a 1000 gallon tank to go on it. He ordered a fuel truck to fill it up, and by the time it was empty, it had paid for itself due to the increase in price.

I don’t have a large enough tank at my (rented) depot to do the same.

And don’t get me started on the lack of an industrial area in this town. Fkn ridiculous that the “Future Industrial Area” that we’ve been waiting for for 35 years, has just been signed over to “Residential”.

ooooooh an update

wait

Drivers are bracing for more pain at the fuel pump as the federal government’s fuel excise cut comes to an end. The excise, which for months was reduced to mitigate a fuel price spike, will return to its normal amount at midnight on August 3, adding 16 cents per litre to wholesale prices.

so

It is expected the change will take about 10 days to flow through to the bowser, with prices forecast to increase to about $2.20 a litre for unleaded and $2.60 a litre for diesel, according to RACQ principal economist Ian Jeffreys. He advised motorists to “fill up as soon as possible” to avoid paying a premium.

does that count as panic buying ¿ Or is it suddenly common sense because some economic clairvoyant is telling yous it’s a good idea
