I could claim that it was a long hard day at work, but I only put in about 6 hours, then went to the post office to collect the parcel from PCcasegear that contains the bits to repair my PC. Then I went to the hardware store to buy a couple of new hi-viz vests as the one in the truck I was in yesterday seems to have been torn apart. Unfortunately, I then went out to the depot to place them in the new trucks and noticed a new ute at the beer drinking shed.

Yeah. I’ve done my 38 hours for the week, get tomorrow off.

Busy week, the real boss took the week off so I’ve been bossing it this week as a fill-in. Been a bit flat out. Had a customer turn up 10 minutes before closing time wanting to have a long look around and a chat. Didn’t buy anything in the end. I hope I didn’t give off too many bad customer service vibes.

Yeah, I’ve been deliberately not looking for more work as we needed to do some repairs, maintenance, clean up the yard, and maybe even get a day off. I’ve had a couple of half days, and my subcontractor took a whole day off, coz he had to see his accountant.

It’s been fairly relaxing to not have to be going gangbusters every day. But having said that, I now have at least 4 more contracts since yesterday morning. One of them is only half a days work, one is a full day, the other two are a full week or two each.
