Do you know how difficult it is to get electrical appliances in non-standard colours? I had enough trouble getting a fireplace that wasn’t black or stainless.

there are some practical reasons, like it’s easier to see in low light (mostly), cooler in summer, but there’s another reason..
it’s a color (or not-color) you don’t have to think about, so’s choice-effort-neutral. Probably considered pure in some way.

no. pigment added are going to be black. look up additive colours and subtractive colours.

Pigments are different to light. All pigments when added give you black because it reflects all colours equally IIRC. Listen to Boris.

sun too middle of the day, nasty fucker doesn’t like being stared at, doesn’t like eyes that way. Has more general misanthropic tendencies, like heatstroke, melanoma, and global warming. on a more serious note, the instincts of man going way back have been involved in steering selection. You could egalitarian that to death, try, it’ll go underground.
