Subject: Android question

I have a google gmail (for emergency use only)
That has a backup gmail (that mrs m uses).

How do I stop android from downloading every bleedin’ email that my wife receives every time I use the android tablet? It even tells me about all the emails when I’m offline.

I don’t think gmail actually downloads an email, it’s all in the cloud man, it’s in the cloud.

I seem to have fixed the problem by changing my “recovery mail” address to an email address that isn’t gmail.

Actually, changing my recovery mail address didn’t work.

Then I logged out of Google chrome, that helped.

Now I’ve just wiped everything off the tablet to restore it to factory defaults (It’s still disassembled). Setting up email from scratch on an empty tablet worked. I now get access to my real email, rather than mrs m’s.

Now all I have to do is hope that the on-off button actually works. It died permanently about 6 months ago, but has been working intermittently (about one time in three) in the past week. It was a major coup to get it to work well enough to do a factory wipe/reset.

Oh yes, and now I need to put all my stuff back on the tablet from scratch

For those who don’t know what the inside of a Lenovo tablet looks like.

Make sure your default search engine is set to Google otherwise other software may set it to Bing and the problem could reoccur.

Duck Duck Go is a decent search engine without all the tracking

Even factory reset and changing email server hasn’t fully fixed the problem. Now I can see the correct email, but sent email doesn’t appear on the email server.
