Hey Mr Rule…..Mr buffy just got this today….he’s got RPL on design and develop, but what is the other one?!

As you are aware, as of April 2019, all trainers will need to hold the below two TAE upgrade units:

• TAELLN411- Language, Literacy and Numeracy ($195) – 3 hour workshop plus 1 month to complete the assessments
• TAEASS502 – Design & Develop Assessment Tools ($350) – 1 day workshop plus 1 month to complete the assessments

He needs to check his Cert IV to see whether he’s got the LLN Unit, so he can assess the foundation skills of each student, in theory. He might already have it.

It’s a bit of a dilemma for a First aid trainer because the HLTAID package doesn’t list a specific minimum foundation skills level, other than to say the skills are ‘explicit in the performance criteria’ (in other words, the learner must be able to count to 30, take observations, and write reports).

Hope that helps.

Thanks Rule. It’s so many years since he did the Cert, it probably wasn’t a part of it. I’ll tell him.
