Question for poik – seems the only painkiller useable with Lexapro is paracetamol?

Nah, plenty to choose from, nsaids carry some added bleeding risk but for short term use I don’t reckon it’d be an issue. Depends on patient and previous hx etc.

Wouldn’t think so. Lexapro is an SSRI.
I’m taking a different SSRI and there are no limits on other painkillers that can go with it.

Aspirin, paracetamol, ibuprofen and diclofenac are my standards.
Soluble aspirin for preference these days, ibuprofen for stronger pain that aspirin won’t touch, and diclofenac skin cream for short term (< 4 hours) relief from localised joint or muscle pain.

I don’t like mersyndol but it can be taken at the same time.
With severe back pain I was prescribed a short term corticosteroid, which worked fine.

I should have said added bleeding risk when used with an ssri.

I’m again doing a short term corticosteroid. The doctor only allowed it because I had only ever done it before in 230126.

Good stuff.

Thanks poik. He can use the panadol for now. Just started the Lexapro today. Long term joint pain.

Isn’t Voltaren best for that?

It’s a small risk and there are plenty of people on such combos.

Not that the Lexapro is for that. But old ambulance people tend to have broken bits.
