Research affirms the power of ‘we’

A healthy relationship starts with the word “we.”

Past research by UC Riverside psychologist Megan Robbins has emphasized the power of first-person personal pronouns such as “we” and “us” in relationships. “We-talk” is an indicator of interdependence, meaning partners affect one another’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This is a shift from self-oriented to relationship-oriented.

But the opposite is also true.

Maybe.

But the opposite is also true.

From the link:

“It is likely both,” Robbins said. “Hearing yourself or a partner say these words could shift individuals’ ways of thinking to be more interdependent, which could lead to a healthier relationship.”

However: “It could also be the case that because the relationship is healthy and interdependent, the partners are being supportive and use we-talk.”

We consider that to make sense.

You recognised the quote?

But anyway, yes, we do.

Although we don’t regard it as being “folk” music, as such.

That’s good I like it too.
I was just wondering how you prepare, how you get in the mood, like relaxing with a glass of wine or some such.
Or you do you get a bit edgy? get a bit of pre minstrel tension?

Depends.

For ISB it can be either.

John Fahey is probably more of a pre minstrel tension kind of guy.

call it spooning language, gets it back to something physical, or something physically analogous.

of course words are physical, sound vibrations and all.

minus the construction I mean

now what are we going to do, me and the whipper snipper. It’s going to talk me into cutting grass.
