Yes summer is over —not that we had very hot days here at all about 3 of 30 this year :)))) and lots of nice rain—it really has been the best summer ever—March can be very hot—but so far it has been raining—and I think we are going to be in for a cold and wet winter but at least you can work to warm up.

We have a few low 30’s coming up this week….

Yes I saw that Luckyy—you sure have had it hot there as well as SA—we have been very lucky here

we’ll be having temperatures swinging between 24 and 34 over the next week.

what with no significant rain, my raised beds have really dried out and you can see the stress in the plants. Even when I put some water on it I think it is just running straight through and not hanging around the plant roots. I guess being the end of the season all the water retaining goodness has been used up and all that is left is hydrophobic.

Our problem over here too BG we didn’t even get our summer storms this year either so I hope that winter will bring the rains or life will get real hard in the southern half of Australia

Well just in from watering the animals and feeding them. Humid as hell outside and still hotish…… shit weather is all I can say about it and its going to continue for maybe another week….. “No relief in site” they said tonight.

Drylander is heading for 40 tomorrow and us here at the homestead…39…..

Adelaide bakes in 75-year heatwave

It has been 75 years since Adelaide has seen such an extraordinary heat wave in Autumn and the weather bureau says there is no relief in sight.

Adelaide is bracing itself for another week of searing heat in the mid to high thirties Celsius.

If Tuesday’s temperature reaches one degree more than the expected top of 34 degrees Celsius it will make nine consecutive days of more than 35C.

Duty forecaster Belinda Gibson says such temperatures have not been recorded in Adelaide since an eight-day heat wave in 1934.

“It isn’t unprecedented but it’s certainly been a long time since we last saw it,” she said.

Ms Gibson says there is no end in sight yet to the extreme weather.

The mercury did not dip below 26C overnight and peaked at 32C at 2:00am ACDT.

Temperatures are expected to reach 40C today.

Yes i saw that (the black placky) wrapped around them.Sorry,but have i missed something? Its bad enough for the plants to be in black pots,retaining the heat,at least you can move them, but the black around trees etc is a mystery to me……………..AL

I am keeping him inside and with the a/c on….. been sleeping in the rumpus room….. He’s doing ok…. seems to be having extra small asthma attacks….

I think this is why he was vomiting the other day…… been out in the heat and he developed a headache.

Well it official….longest heatwave on record and also the hottest March on record….. we have high 30’s until next week. Temp for today was amended and is going to be higher.

I am sad this morning and i think I have had enough of this sh*t weather.

Last nights cooking tea went like this………

Made custard in microwave……

1. custard was too thin……..didn’t thicken.
2. custard did boil over in microwave
3. forgot to put sugar in it…
4. added sugar and put too much
5. add mixture to saucepan with egg to thicken it….
6. dished up the stewed apples with now wreaked custard
7. Elf drops his bowl near the table
8. Gives mine to elf so he’s got something to eat
9. me cleans up mess
10. tea a failure
11. I go without eating

End of my day………….
