I have hinted a few times that we are about to embark on some renovations. Well the builder is keen to start next Wednesday, which means we only have this weekend to clear out and store everything from the downstairs living areas. And Mr BG is still in agony with his back so he is not going to be any use. Anybody free this weekend? Pretty please with cherries on top?

actually I am considering paying someone to do it as the stress of it is going to be way too much otherwise. The storage is organised but we need help with the actual removal and delivery.

Sounds like that might be worth the money this time, what with Mr BG out of action… I think too often people concentrate on saving money without thinking about the value of the stress etc that you go through if you don’t pay someone to help..

Caterers every time for a 21st Bubba…we’re having ours in BrisVegas at an undisclosed community club…our main concern is security… but I believe the birthday girl and friends are bringing cupcakes (patty cakes)…just booked the venue yesterday and the party is Q B’day weekend… a friend is having hers on Saturday so ours will be the “Recovery”!!

Geez I hope not…we are on strict numbers…might mention to daughter so she can check with club about how to screen non-inviteds…

We wanted it at the race track but she breaks out in hives at the mention of the word “race track”…you can hire a gazebo or similar…spend nearly all the day there…the gentlemen have something to “do” (punt)…plus it’s very secure…pretty hard to gate-crash a race track…

he ended out putting it the driveway, but that’s OK. They asked Mr BG where he wanted it and I hadn’t thought to tell him!

Removalist is booked for Monday afternoon after we have boxed up all the small items on the weekend.

mumbles mantra

This is going to happen, there is no reason to stress, it is under control, the end result is going to be FAB TAB!

friends of ours used to have a cleaning business and they did contract work for Real Estate agents cleaning out houses and units between rentals. They used to find quite a lot of good and sometime valuable stuff which they were allowed to keep. All the agents wanted is the placed to be cleaned out and they were mostly used after people did a runner so there was no way of contacting them.

groan

I never want to pack another box again! The lounge and family rooms are now empty of furniture and chattels and ready for the builders to come and do their bit. The 6m^2^ skip is 3/4 full from rubbish and the carpet we ripped out of #1 sons old room. We are now using his room as a mini lounge room but because he used to share it with a ferret it stank! So the carpet, the main offender, had to go. So imagine a not particularly large bedroom with a single bed, a settee, a TV, a bookshelf, a cat, a budgie, 2 rats and 3 people and you will have a very cosy room. The cat will be going on a holiday tomorrow though so he won’t have to suffer the distress of all the changes going on.

And you wouldn’t believe what you can pack into a 2×3 meter storage unit! It was tight but they did it! Not an whisker of space left! It was a bit close there for a while and it looked like I was going to have to take some stuff home with me. Imagine one of those 3 dimensional puzzles where you slot a piece in here, twisted it so many degrees this way, give a little push one direction and it falls into place in another. It was just like that.
