bit of local controversy. They have only sold about half the capacity of the stadium, so they are closing half of the ground off. As it turns out, the seats in the shade will be closed and seats in the full sun open. But it’s going to be 38C today.
I see that the follow on has not been enforced…

They could throw the rest of the stadium open for general admission – sit where you like – but some areas cordoned off for members and reserved seating. Just don’t need to have every bar and food outlet open like they do for the footy. Probably could open 1 of every 3 and close the rest.

I read about that.
Probably the same effing mental giant at CA that put the Women’s Domestic 20 Over competition on at the same time as and in direct competition with the last test.

Same number of pies are gunna get eaten, and the same number of piddles are gunna get done. Whether they open the whole place or just half of it. They’ll open as few pie stands and dunnies as possible.
I’m saying ~320 aus first innings.
I’ll adjust as needed.

Pretty much. They should observe where people tend to sit most so they can open those particular drinks and food stalls in that area.
As it is now I think they are selling individual ticketed seats. they could save a bit of money on paying bouncers to check tickets if they just let people sit wherever.
Wasted one review; too high.
Good thing (for India) that they didn’t do it again next ball. It was also too high.

The rule in Perth is normally if it strikes above the knee-roll it is going over.
A pretty good start.
The pitch seems to be a bit tamer than the WACA.

Always good to have a left-hander in the line-up. Keeps the bowlers and fielders from getting too settled.
Michael Parkinson’s dad once tired to put together an entirely-left-handed XI. I think he got 9 out of 11. Apparently, the reaction of bowlers as left-hander followed left-hander followed left-hander to the crease made it very much worth the effort.

Apparently, it doesn’t matter what you teach ‘em, the smart ones will muddle through, and the dumb ones were doomed anyway.
