Wouldn’t the water dry up after a couple of days if it is collected?

I suppose in the tropical north with rainfalls of 100 inches per annum, this would be a problem tho’….

They do get flushed out when I water them too, so I suppose that counts as “changing” the water.

Maybe it’s to stop things breeding in the water? Mozzies?

Thanks all,my idea is that the water in the funnel slowly dissipates through to the soil or evaporation.I never let them dry out but just top up.Regards………….AL
