In fact the pitch looks like it’s dying after only 3 overs and the commentators are talking GOAT. I like it not.

The draw looking more and more likely. I can’t see them declaring today with their slow scoring rate. If they declare at only 450 the Aussies should be able to avoid the follow on at 250.
The only chance of a result is an Aussie collapse in the first innings and follow-on. Otherwise draw.

Im calling a boring draw. India to bat for another day and make 700 runs, Australia bat for 2 days and make 220 runs, no result.

Siddle was on for one over while one of the fast bowlers was getting his foot re-strapped. Simple catch cam his way, he jumped up at it like an AFL footballer taking a mark, dropped it. He could have just stayed grounded and it would have hit him in the chest.

I was saying last night, it all comes down to Australia avoiding the follow-on.
Such a weak batting line-up, now we’re relying on the all rounder, keeper and bowlers to get twice as many as the top order got between them.Having an all-rounder at 6 is just a luxury we can’t afford. Should have gone with Wade as a specialist bat at 6. I’m sure the current situation is beyond M Marsh’s capability but no doubt he’ll get the blame whatever happens.

Yes. We were discussing the follow on very early in the innings. Before Australia even came in to bat.
Mitch Marsh nearly reached double figures.
We are certainly getting a flogging.
I think that’s the series gone, in just two short sessions. None of the top 6 are good enough, either poor technique or no temperament. Just needed one pair to bat through till tea.

We have to stop this coaching philosophy of letting blokes “play their natural game” when their natural game includes bad defensive technique, poor shot selection and just plain dumb cricket.
They need to get out of the past-greats era thinking of just go out there and be aggressive and force the issue. We don’t have that calibre of players today to be able to pull that off, they need to learn how to play dour defensive cricket and turn the game around by grinding it out and wearing the opposition down.

Yes, I would have thought so. It’s not as though they need a rest.
Still … the lead could be 400 by the end of Day 3 so it’s a reasonably safe decision. Declare tomorrow and mMake Australia chase 500 odd on a crumbling pitch.
