Trump is the best thing to happen to the medias bottom line for ages, he’s a gold mine.
The media has harnessed the anti Trump hysteria to make a motsa.
They know that any anti Trump story regardless of whether it’s a new revelation from un-named sources will be gobbled up by millions of the usual suspects and they will disburse it to millions of other suckers through social media with a link to their story so millions more will click on the link and come to their web page and read their ads.
Well Muller has had enough, in an unusual move he has broken his silence on the latest fake news.
In a short curt statement Muller’s office has said.
“BuzzFeed’s description of specific statements to the Special Counsel’s Office, and characterisation of documents and testimony obtained by this office, regarding Michael Cohen’s Congressional testimony are not accurate.”
Muller is painstakingly developing a case that hopefully is bullet proof and will tear Trump down.
But the media don’t care, all they are doing is reinforcing the world view of Trump supports that the media is fake news and ensure they will come out in their droves at the election if Muller fails.
But maybe the bean counters in the top offices of these media corporations are saying among themselves over a glass of port and a fine cigar “We’ll just let out journos keep going because we cant afford to lose Trump, he’s too good a money spinner”

Meh, whatever the president does, and whoever it is, there is going to be a whole media industry that feed off it and scrutinise and analyse everything. The flavour of the reporting about Trump is a different tone than previously, but the volume of the reporting is not. Certain people are paid to report as Washington correspondents, they need to file a report every day.

Trump Is Bad Clickbait
“In a tweet issued Friday, President Donald Trump ramped up his scare-mongering over immigration by suggesting Muslims are crossing the border between Mexico and the U.S. and leaving behind their prayer rugs. The president cited an eyebrow-raising Washington Examiner report, which interviewed a rancher on the border who requested anonymity to claim that people have found Islamic prayer rugs on their property. The anonymous rancher doesn’t provide any evidence, but claims that in the last 6 months, the nationalities of detained border crossers included ‘Chinese, Germans, Russians, a lot of Middle Easterners, those Czechoslovakians,’ not just people from Mexico and Central America. Czechoslovakia, it should be noted, is a country that has not existed since 1992.”

Women’s March returns to US cities to maintain pressure against President Trump
Women have marched in hundreds of US cities to mark the second anniversary of the demonstrations that took place the day after President Donald Trump’s inauguration in January 2017.
Women’s March, a national non-profit organisation that evolved from the initial Washington march which drew millions of protesters to the streets, again hosted its main event in Washington, with hundreds of “sister” marches in other cities.
March On, a separate grassroots coalition that also grew from the original march, coordinated hundreds of marches in cities such as Boston, Houston, Baltimore and Denver.
Leaders of both groups said they would use this year’s marches to promote policies related to raising the minimum wage, access to reproductive and healthcare, and voting rights, among other issues.

I think both can be true, Trump is a bad president and the media has lost its shit. And after Trump is gone, what will be left behind? Maybe a chastened China, NATO paying more of its way, a warming between the two Koreas, though that may have happend anyway, I have the impression Kim is a bit more accomodating and open, troops are coming home, tariffs may remain or go. If that’s the sum of what remains and the economy is ticking along well with good employment prospects it’s not been a bad run compared to the hysteria.
The one big one is a move toward more isolationism, I do t think that is a good thing for global stability but it will please a lot of people who demonise the US regardless of what it does.

For a long while we were doing Trump daily here as well. Guardian still does.
I generally avoid stories featuring his ugly mug.
The car radio is now on automatic pilot. Every time it hears the word “Trump” it goes one station up the dial to ABC Classic FM. If it hears “trump” on there (ABC Classic FM does have hourly “news”), it automatically goes off for 5 minutes. I’ve trained my autonomic nervous system to do it. Just like breathing.
I have done that as well, and as a result I have never heard Trump speaking since he got elected.
And I don’t have a TV so removing him off that was easy.

Well the asbestos has to come from somewhere, so I guess there could be re-opened mines, even if they are in Russia.

What does it prove to cherry-picking one issue out of so many
in the attempt to shut down the discussion about this monstrosity.
Kinda like praising Mussolini for running Italy’s Trains on Schedule.

Because if you want to complain about ‘fake news’ then you’d best make damn sure that you’re not also part of the problem.

I read the news pretty thoroughly and I’ve never seen any anti-Trump hysteria.
He represents a real, unique, grave threat, in several separate yet intertwined ways, and to be honest I think the media aren’t representing this truth well enough.
*clicks like.
Jesus fucking Christ ever damn week there is something that should be shocking, should under normal circumstances completely end someone’s political life, but after two years we are now so inured to it we just “yep”.
He disgraces his position and it is surprising (or maybe not as that’s the way the world is heading) that he hasn’t been outed.
He makes remarks that get other people fired but is immune to this because he is the president.
You do wonder if he was compromised from the beginning as the Russians have something on him (must be quite bad considering his personality) and he cooperates with plans to destabilise various alliances.

Or maybe he’s just naturally a dick.
