Subject: Looking to be a Lady of Leisure

This week we were advised at work that they need to cut expenses over the next 18 months due the GFC, and rather than just put people off, they asked for the staff to volunteer ways they could help in terms of taking accrued leave/long service leave, taking unpaid leave, work reduced hours or take a voluntary redundancy. I have already indicated here that I have been yearning for a lifestyle change so I put my hand up for a voluntary redundancy as the payout package was very attractive. I will continue for a while on two days a week until a project I am working on is complete and then I will be a Lady of Leisure! In all it was handled very well and positively and only a few people were in a position where they had to be laid off, and there were many that opted to take leave or reduced hours.

I am looking forward to spending lots more time in the garden, and making more of an effort to lose some weight and lower my blood pressure.

GFC = Global Financial Crisis?

Is that right?

I SO wish we lived closer. I certainly need to lose weight as well and it’s heaps easier to exercise with a friend.

I’m pleased for you BG. Good things come to those who wait. You may well find that the change will make a big difference to your health problems without you having to work hard on them. Kudos to your employers for handling the the whole thing to the best of their ability.

God placed me on this earth to accomplish a certain number of tasks, at this stage I’m so far behind, I will never die! LOL

good idea – you’ve got enough expertise to feed the family in your ‘liesure’ time.

Get sick and lay round the house barking…. and look what happens….I miss out on all the great news:)

Hey good news for you BG.

A little tip though…… you’ll find there still won’t be enough hours in the day…even when at home full time.

Enjoy it and hope the BP improves and you enjoy the weight loss:)
