I reckon the boats are less likely to induce seizures than the trains.

Nobody round here’d buy it. They’ve all tossed theirs down the dump as a redundant and irrelevant piece of rural paraphernalia from a bygone era. .

Going to NZ for 3 weeks in a few months. I’ll let you know what it’s like.

I went there in 1974. Spent 6 weeks in the south island in a converted orange juice van. I even got to Stewart Island.

I’ve been watching the NZ one for the past 2 hrs, straight.

They are now climbing up from Christchurch through the mountains at the moment.

I think it’s the best of the lot so far.

Best scenery.
No artificial sounds.
Great amount of variation.
No internal train shots.
No talking from driver or passengers
No helicopter shots.

It doesn’t need them.

if the NZ one does start to lose the wow thing, go back and watch the ghan again.

if the comparison module doesn’t bounce back, slam a door shut on the big fella.

I do it regular, have done, i’m quite happy now.

Also saves me thousands of dollars and days of motion sickness.

Love it.

Also gives me a way to ascertain track quality, vibration, number of carriages, vegetation types, understory, drought situation, topography, track layout, maintenance road, drainage .number of crossings, speed.

And beauty or ugliness.

Actually, it did have helicopter shots. And they were needed to show spectacular scenery that was not visible from the train / car / boat.
