Penrose talks moonshine about consciousness, in my estimation.

I doubt that anyone who talks about consciousness can be regarded as a reliable source on the subject.

I’d say Penrose’s hypotheses would be as good as anyone else’s.

Good effort, but I shall refute in equal detail:

I disagree.

big spray of links, to what end, I ask, any chance of some generalizations regards what it feels like from the experience?

a few, in order of what’s apparent, perhaps even obvious, i’ll have a bash

1) i’m hunting for stuff in my head, and it feels like looking for stuff, not greatly different to looking for things external (and there’s try and test, feels like a lot of it).

2) there’s constant argument (in some mentalese mostly) about whether some aspect of thought (and conversion to language here) continues to make sense. This extends to some global feedback of which conclusions, even unconclusion, question intentions. The original intentions are subject to, altered or mediated by outputs (exploration and findings).

3) there are some background contemplations, persistence regards, of the challenges of summoning mental resources while maintaining a half enjoyable, friendly internal environment. The home in my head, the home that is my mind.
On my morning walk, these contemplations generated the question in words does ideology exploit psychological ignorance, and does the structure of minds (expressed as the workings of mind tools) have about it native ignorances (cognitive holes). This, now, seems to be a continuation of some theory of displacement i’m working on.

4) the unconcluded conclusion, or concluded unconclusion, is that the force of mental activity is greatly derived from what it displaces (other possibilities, other structures, other objectives, other behaviours).

5) the voice in my head has resolves (reiterated again) I am mostly what I don’t know.

6) the same voice now is telling me i’m always working on the edge of what I know, the attribution of a significance to what I don’t know being part of that, motivating it.

I gave Skiptic Peat a big salty for his birthday once, he said it was dangerous and not at all loyal, don’t know what happened to it, he never mentioned it again or his dog.

Interesting. I totally agree with 4 and 5.

On number 1. When hunting for something in my head, I never find it unless I deliberately switch off consciousness. Either sleeping on it with real sleep, or at least briefly switching off thought to do something totally non-cerebral. It’s as if only the unconscious/subconscious can find the lost keys in my mind and it can’t work when consciousness is switched on. Or to put is another way, it’s like batch processing on a computer – setting the search algorithm going and then walking away for it to complete in its own time.
