Are any of us using a personal safety phone app like MySafetyBuddy or HelpMe?
I think there’s huge potential safety increases for people who live / work on their own. Curious to know your experiences / thoughts.

I can press th button on the side of my phone a few times and it will send a text to my sister and Mr Mutant with my location and a message that I’m in trouble.

Yep. That’s a good feature.

I think the App features like shake-for-duress, immobility alarm, watch me etc are probably for people who are (or feel themselves to be) at a higher level of risk.

When I was chippying, for example, I often found myself working alone, in empty houses, in empty streets, knowing full well that if I were to fall and bang my head, no-one would even wonder where I was for anything up to 12 hours. And then it could take a couple of hours to find me. That’s not even the tiniest bit safe.

This sort of thing would be good for me. If I had mobile reception.

I’m a bit surprised by the apparent lack of interest in these Apps.

I thought they looked as interesting as hell, and has some serious potential…

Knew how to look after myself before I got a stupid phone.

I sincerely hope we don’t need to test that, mate.

It has been tested lots of times. I really shouldn’t be here at all.
Sure, now that I’m older, I should perhaps change that perspective
