There seems to massive disinterest in this election judging by the complete lack of posters on the way into town.. must not be a marginal seat.

I don’t like the look of any of em.

This one’s plain scary..

Just in case there are any people handing out Australian Conservative how to vote cards, I’ll even offer to share it with them.

Bad form…

“Some early teething problems with the count

Strathfield MP Jodi McKay has told ABC News there have been some problems with the count in her seat.

Ms McKay said a Liberal volunteer began working in the booth itself, rather than just campaigning.

“The returning officer I believe let them in and they had five hours or so actually working with votes,” Ms McKay said.

“I understand that there are three boxes of votes which could determine the result of my seat which have been quarantined and may not be counted tonight.”

Strathfield is the second-most marginal Labor seat in the state, held by Ms McKay by 1.8 per cent.”

So… with a likely election date of May 18, does that mean we have approx 3ish weeks til ScoMo needs to tell the GG?

“Based on timelines provided by the Australian Electoral Commission, the next election must be held by 18 May 2019 for half of the Senate and on or before 2 November 2019 for the House of Representatives and Territory Senators. There has however been speculation the government could hold a May 25th election by, for example, providing additional resources to the Commission to negotiate an accelerated count. An election will not be held earlier than 33 days after it is called, and will take place on a Saturday.”

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019_Australian_federal_election

So: 30-(33-18)= 15 April

Or: 30-(33-25) = 22 April

HOLD THEM TO THAT !

“Construction of Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport is now underway. Set to open in 2026”.

That’s a heck of a slow construction. Land was purchased for the airport in the 1970s, if I remember correctly from by Civil Engineering undergraduate days.

Is this what they mean by “Build a north-south rail link to Western Sydney Airport”?

Barwon. From Nats to Shooters in a HUGE swing.
Coogee. From Libs to ALP
Lismore. From Nats to ALP
Murray. From Nats to Shooters in a HUGE swing

Dubbo, East Hills are close by Coalition are ahead.

So it looks as though they will get 48 seats. If Dubbo and East Hills both went to ALP, it would be 46 but the Coalition would have no problem forming minority govt from that position.

Hardly surprising the Nats lost Barwon and Murray.

The Facebook Blackfellas page is really upset about latham.

I think that if we just limited the votes in the next federal election to those who live in Victoria everybody would be better off.

I’m going to make a bold prediction for the Federal Election:

Voting patterns will be split along the so-called Barassi Line. I know it is a sporting thing, but I reckon it will become a close enough fit for a political map too, but more or less unrelated to the sporting division.

You heard it here first.

So your theory is that those who in the main support League are knuckle dragging right wing thugs with hardly two brain cells to rub together, and that’s the women.

No. There is a cultural divide that is more than just football codes.

Hang on a minute.

I thought that was your theory.

(Or should that be hypothesis?)

So what has Latham been saying?

The only ON policy that I have seen clearly stated is that they are going to remove a $75 tax on electricity (which doesn’t actually exist).

If it’s Wounded White Male Victim stuff, Latham’s said it.

Anti-feminist, anti-foreigner, anti-gay etc.

OK, if you are after an upper house seat in a state election, and if you are sufficiently unprincipled, I can see how it would make sense to spout that stuff.

I wonder why he didn’t put it in his daily texts to me though.

Convincing oneself that one nation does not exist actually helps like a placebo.

Install web browser filters to get rid of any article about one nation, its leader and any photos of its leader etc.

One Nation don’t actually do anything, they just talk shit. That’s why Latham signed up.

The final NSW Newspoll had the Coalition ahead on the 2pp 51-49.

It is looking as though the final 2pp will be more like 53-47.

They weren’t big polls so uncertainty was high but it might indicate that Labor’s bad final week had some impact.

It was all those Asians and their PhDs taking the ALP seats away.
