Foresight.
Robert A. Heinlein in 1938 in “For Us, The Living: A Comedy of Customs” predicted a successful major sneak attack on the USA by South America.
The book was not published at the time because there was a successful major sneak attack on the USA by Japan in 1941.
Foresight is not perfect.
:) The Foresight is usally nothing on hindsight.
sad that i missed adding a the before the word hindsight. It was actually what I meant to intend but sadly it didn’t end up typed as I would have hoped.
It was only a little aside but it failed utterly.
Now let us put the joke aside and get back to reality. I really don’t mind if I am allowed to keep a gun or not because the law is not going to notice me using a gun.
Now those who do use guns are not noticed as much as they use their car.
These are simple realistic situations.
You cannot drive a car without a license which is also an ID card. You cannot drive a car on the road unless it is registered, If it is your car and registered under your name, there are cops everywhere watching your movements.
The gun license is similar but nearly so heavily policed. If you drive past a highway patrol car sitting beside the road that does not bother you whatever speed you are doing, you should be aware that it is only there to read numberplates and cross correllate.
I know that gun owners don’t have data on their vehicle’s numberplates to determine that they could be gun carriers but this is the sort of stuff that should be included in numberplate data.
