Bloody hell its cold… the therm has dropped below 7 degrees the last two mornings…

I even took my thermal vest with me on my bike ride today, just in case it was chilly in the beer garden under the shade of the Delonix…

brrr, and I just laid some new turf at home and am trying to get it to set roots :(

Don’t worry, all that the turf needs is sunshine…and hand watering…

You laid some new turf? You didn’t start it from scratch? Young things are so lazy these days…

Everything is flowering early this year…guess the delonix is still leafed, but won’t be long before it de-leafs, ready for spring flowering…are the mangoes up there flowering already?

Yeah, I remember, cold in Townsville is when you have to drag out your cardigan (warmest item in wardrobe)…

Yeah, if someone wants to grow a big patch of turf, and then share a few strips with me, then let ‘em do the hard yards. I now have a green yard!

Fine here. I’m in short sleves today. Just made some chocolate biscuits and burnt the bottom of 2 lots. Choc biscuits always do that for me. Thankfully the 3rd batch are ok. Not a good start to the day. Have a happy Tuesday!

beautiful day here as well.
plenty of odd jobs – plant remaining spuds, finishing weeding, fertilising and mulching spinach – and weeding, mowing everything. not to mention building the compost.
i am harvesting celery, cabbage, kale at present and bbeans, bsprouts are getting closer to harvest.
ms pepe put a cos lettuce in a hot wok with peanut oil and it tasted excellent in the stir fry. so we have at last eaten hot lettuce.

coldish and wettish here – so no signs of an early spring – praise be – i would be happy with a wet cold spring for a change.

There was a huge bank of cloudy stuff from the ground up, east north east (looking towards Moranbah really, I think), straight across the top…

I took a picture with Fashionasta’s camera, which has pretensions to social photos only, but might be able to post something when I see her next.

The lights at Gregory mine would have given it definition (proportion? perspective?) but I don’t think the poor little camera managed to pick them out…

That cloud bank is moving over us this morning. Very strange with half the sky as blue as and the other half heavy grey cloud. Wish it held some rain though.

There’s a “big” eclipse tonight, apparently it’s a 3 part show…the first part was July 7, the second part is tonight (historical occasion) and the third part is 6th August…I believe the show starts about 19:00 AEST
