those closeups are good – my thanks to the elf.
we got those little grass parrots here atm. dazzling luminescent green colours.
E-300 = nice.
What a dear little parrot! It looks like a budgerigar, but I think they might be a parrot too?
Excellent shot of the bee, I have never seen one so close-up before…
I agree with Mr Lucky that there’s a lot of things blooming earlier this year, but on the other hand the wattles are very late…usually bloom in June but they are just coming out now…

Lazy day for someone here in Luckyland.

Today the elf and I are going to take our time and get 1 area turned over and plant out some carrots and spring onion seeds.
The asparagus is shooting and I haven’t even gotten that area ready yet. First time that has happened.
Really looking forward to the time out in the garden. Not putting a time limit, though I will be watching elf and listening to my ankle.
I’ll pop up before and after pics on my blog later today.
Hip Hooray! Sounds like an eggsellent plan, Lucky…
I’m seriously considering taking of a spade depth of soil, laying down a layer of cane toads, then topping with the soil…by the time the corn gets to them they’ll be a great source of B & B…besides I need the ice-cream container for this season’s crop of bufo marinus (is that right? must Google some more…)

What a great idea….. visions of a spade wielding woman out in the dark I’ve never met a cane toad as of yet, but I sure am not in a hurry either….LOL
Oh no, I catch them while wearing rubber gloves (note to self: buy new dark purple gloves for this season)…

ROTFL… your kidding. That is so cool/funny and oh so yucky. Are they easy to catch???

NO! the little so and so’s are quick and cunning…that’s why I’m considering a butterfly net type tool…although if I can get them in a pot saucer of water under the ultraviolet bug catcher, I stand a very good chance…
In for a coffee for the elf and a skinny coke for me.
Ducks now banished back to their area, big footed ones they are….lol
Asparagus area is all cleaned up, so is the silverbeet and Italian parsley areas.
Garden fork broke…………………….. @#%* thing….buggerdamnit!
Beautiful weather.
Kettle has now boiled and we’re going to have some left over apple/ruby and custard….. ‘cos we can:D
Just after midday and we have called it quilts for the day…. elf is off to have a shower and I am about to make an egg & bacon pie for lunch.
Got some great before and after photos for my blog:)
Okay, you will need a drink of some kind to read and view the photos and my waffle of today’s event out the back.
Elf is knackered and having a nap.
Me I am now about to cook biscuits for craft day on Tuesday and for while Pa is here.
Enjoy

Oh well done, Lucky!
Great effort by both of you…
Mr Lucky deserves his lie-down…
:)
Thanks Veg & Dinetta.
Still buzzing from the morning:D
Well done Lucky and the elf :D Realy cleaned it up didn’t yous !
It’s great for you to get back out there I’ll bet.
Bugga on the broken fork. Can you put another handle on it, or did the tines break ? A half decent replacement one cost about $70, they arn’t cheap.
I’ve got one that Dad got sick of fixing the handle, he welded a light piece of pipe (plus little piece of pipe across the top of handle) onto the tines and it’s ace…

Metal part of the handle, just above the fork prongs:(
Ewww, maybe Mr Lucky knows a mate from his welding days who might be able to fabricate something?

No:(
A lot of them drop him like a hot rock when people started to snoop round the factory testing the air for this and that. To see if it was up to regulation…….. which it wasn’t. sigh
Oh I’ll keep my eye out for one….. save like buggery and pick one up.

That’s right. The cane toads will be around again with the warm weather. The insects have already found our screen door and it’s a fight to get inside and make sure I leave the insects outside.
Good days work there. Glad your back into the gardening again L1.

We have picked up gardening tools at the weekend markets. They aren’t new but they were made in a era when things were meant to last.

One of our neighbours died earlier this year, he was 52, died of lung cancer. He owned a car exhaust business, and apparently the fumes destroyed his lungs. He was a smoker (all that family smokes) and that confused matters, but it was the car exhaust fumes that killed him. By the time they worked all this out, it was too late. He was in hospital being treated, when he had a sudden and unexpected heart attack, so it was a merciful passing but still … I think they’ve just starting to realize in the past 5 years that some things aren’t meant to be breathed for 8 hours a day…

They had seven children and two grandchildren, lived their own lives…but yes it was a shock…I think the James Hardie affair has given people the belief that it’s OK to stick up to yourself…the legal process takes sooooooo long however…
This morning we sowed carrot, beetroot and radish seeds into a lovely dark looking soil that had a shower of rain last night.
Popped some bird netting over it too. To stop my big hoofers and birds stepping and digging in the soil.
