I’ll investigate this later, there’s quite a few birds I can only hear and not identify and trying to record them was resoundingly unsuccessful.

For outdoor calls i use a video recorder.

Then play that back into a studio mike inside the house for recording to Audacity.

An alternative is to just record to mobile phone.
