Oh no Bubba! I’ll send you some pics of mine in a few weeks. Just waiting for the bud burst to happen. I can give you some new rooted cuttings if your interested. Mine is a georgeous double blue/lilac. Never have worked out it’s true botanical name.

I haven’t decided if I’ll plant anotrher one or try something different, but either way I’m leaving the bed until I can put some work into improving it.

I have been trying to get mine to grow ever since we moved here in late 2002. It’s obviously in the wrong spot and I’ve never done anything special with it. Would appreciate some pointers on how to grow a great one.

And I sympathise with you….we just had to chop down a beautiful Cootamundra Wattle because of borer. But it was near the end of it’s life anyway. How sad to lose a beautiful wisteria

Borers may but also may not.. kill the entire plant..During drought tiems these problems are more obvious.

Believe me it’s dead as. You can stick your finger through the trunk and it crumbles in your hand. Not a bit of green under there at all.

It’s never really been stressed from the drought.

I wonder how a Millettia megasperma would go as a replacement? I’ve got a potted one that was meant for another spot.

Roughbarked could be right, in that below the ground of your wisteria may still be alive and well. Maybe you should wait till they are due to get new leaf before doing anything rash.

If it’s going to reshoot it’ll do it from the stump anyway, so cutting it off might be for the best.
