When we go to Pepe’s place (twice) we have heard the frogs and boy they are just so beautiful to listen to.:D

I have visions of warm/cool evening, slurping on an icy cold skinny coke, feet up relaxing…….listening to the ribbit…ribbit… ribbit….

the frogs are pretty active and we keep these ponds full for their sake – and to keep a multitude of birds alive – we should ask the government for a eco-subsidy. LOL

yep – now i have to eat them. fortunately my wife keeps thinking of ingeneous new meals – i run out of lettuce so – cucumber, tomato and yogurt salad tonight, corn entree.
the ponds are old metal bath – giveaways – then just rough stone rubble walls. very good and cheap.

hopefully a lot wetter than they are now – then the frogs and birds can look after themselves……and we all can breath easy again …….. and the government can keep its subsidy.

Hate it when the said pumpkins are shown on the news and the winner is sent to an oldies place to be made into soup for them…… poor buggers will be eating orange water for weeks with no taste in it.

it looks similar to the one you posted in this topic. i saw one when pruning in spring – very well hidden. i thought it might have been a bit bigger with sticks in it but the butterfly had left so it had gaping holes and was a wreck.

has your sis got them? – they are very common – but extremely drought tolerant and a good butterfly attractant. all you have to do now is ID those two white speckled moths in the photo. .

Yes, out on the station, had trouble with the rabbits eating them…. couple of nights prowling with the shot gun, pretty well fixed that problem.

thanks – i’ve dropped sawdust because it ends up as mulch in the garden and is non-wetting.

I’m going to use the bunny wood shavings as paths in the garden. So I can have some safe spots to walk. Last thing I need to is plant out and forget to make paths.

from Wikipedia:

“A bulb of garlic, the most commonly used part of the plant, is divided into numerous fleshy sections called cloves.”

simon byrant on ‘the cook and the chef’ put a whole bulb in the recipe he was preparing and called it a ‘clove’ – so i was wondering if the chefs have a different definition.
