More Than 28,000 Species Are Now Officially Threatened, But It’s Just The Beginning

More than 28,000 species around the world are threatened, according to the Red List of Threatened Species compiled by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN). The list, updated on Thursday night, has assessed the extinction risk of almost 106,000 species and found more than a quarter are in trouble.

78,000 species on the Red List not threatened. That’s amazing. Think about it. How can any species be not threatened by human activity?

The Red List is not something you can draw statistics from. It’s enormously incomplete, so expect the number of threatened species to skyrocket as it becomes more complete, as more rare species are added. Some examples:

On the other hand, I’ll believe that it is accurate. So far, entries added have been by real biologists and ecologists. i think it’s great, it’s getting there, but it has a long way to go.

What about using drones to help monitor species?

Give every drone a species list.

This list would require constant updating as new species are found on a regular basis.

Drones would be designed to be as less invasive as possible but still able to count species numbers over a given area, then they move around to different areas eventually returning to each area etc.

Give these drones multiple duties like local weather monitoring, environmental monitoring, species monitoring, environmental destruction monitoring , poaching of native animals etc.

The phrase “monitor monitor monitor” is singular, composed of adjective, noun, verb.

Now a monitor monitor may or may not be a monitor, because it’s not clear from the context.

If a monitor monitor is not a monitor then it only monitors one monitor.

But if a monitor monitor is a monitor then there could be two monitor monitors each monitoring each other, but the answer is still one because each monitor monitor only monitors one monitor.

However, if there are n monitor monitors arranged in a circle the the maxinum number a monitor monitor could monitor is determened by the monitor monitor’s viewing angle so for instance n /3 for n large and a viewing angle of 60 degrees.

But that still doesn’t include all the possibilities because the monitor screen of a monitor monitor may display multiple monitor monitors that an external monitor monitor can monitor and thus build up by iteration a monitoring of all n monitors by one monitor monitor.

But only for n small because of the monitor monitor’s screen resolution. For larger n
