Still too cold held here for marties, frost disagrees with the calender…

I WILL put in pumpkins and melons when it warms a bit. The bed has had about 5 years to settle…

Heard from the fella who ran into my car, he’s happy to transfer the $$ to me when he gets back from Kuwait this evening.

Glad he’s a nice fella. Kip time for night shift tonight.

There’s a fella here in Collie who was given a piglet a few years ago. It is HUGE now.. And smart. It worked out how to open the gate by watching him.

I like pigs (not feral ones, tho) because they are smart. They need mud because of their skin condition (so I believe) but for those who say pigs are “dirty”, I reckon those people would be dirty too if they had to live in rot and filth…always like to see piggies running around in clean quarters with a mudbath close by… or something moist for their skins…

It was lovely sitting out the back once the wind dropped. I had self sown spuds grow over the winter months and now the plant died back.

Well the only problem was, I didn’t put straw over them. Piles of spuds, plus some green ones. Going to use these to start off this season’s crop. I asked over on OZ Grow garden forum and they seem to think like me, green ones are okay to use to start the crops off.

Those spuds were only watered over winter by mother nature.

Photos tomorrow…..

i’m getting about 4 eggs per day from 8 hens. the daughter has 2 of my non layers and we are thinking of checking the local auction next wednesday and buying a few young ones.

i will be picking greenfeast peas in a week – pods have formed and just need to fill out.

Yesterday I thinned out a few radishes and man were they yummy in our tummies.

Sure is lovely to be able to walk out the back and pull a root crop and have a feed…..even if its only a tiny feed.
